The ASIS 5U AC shelf is an Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA) hardware platform for telecommunication equipment intended to be installed in an office environment. The ASIS 5U AC Shelf has incorporated redundant internal power supplies and is intended to be connected to a standard 110 to 240VAC power source. It features five horizontal board slots for ATCA compliant application cards enclosed in a chassis suitable to be mounted on a standard 19" rack. Compliant with the PICMG 3.0 ATCA specifications, this platform can achieve levels of backplane interconnect bandwidth and flexibility previously not possible in standards-based products. The ASIS 5U AdvancedTCA AC shelf provides industry leading reliability, power and thermal capabilities. These features are further enhanced with the optional redundancy in power input and management functions. All of the shelf assemblies are designed implementing a field replaceable unit (FRU) concept, thus enabling easy and fast field maintenance with minimum or no downtime. The chassis supports five slots at 200W each and five rear transmission models at 15W each. The innovative and comprehensive approach towards shelf and cable management will support the market needs at a cost effective price for years to come. The 5U chassis is available in full mesh as a standard.
